Growing up in the city of Aberdeen and visiting the rugged Banff coastline with end on buildings, steep descents and weathered surfaces provided a new and very different environment for me to explore. My interest in harbours, boats and industrial backdrops developed from working as a teacher at Peterhead Academy.
Bennachie and the surrounding landscape as well as Deeside are the main sources for my landscape paintings. More recently, images of Aberdeen have interested me as well as sunlit Spanish cities and towns.
The act of drawing and painting connects all chosen subjects as part of an ongoing creative process.
